The Drunkard's Path pattern and its many variations are made from two different size squares. The Background Fabric square (Fabric #1) traditionally is one inch (1") larger than the Fabic Square (Fabric #2) from which the Quarter Circle is cut. The Background square (Fabric #1) can be more or less than 1" larger but that is the traditional difference. One CREATIVE CURVES RULER will be used to cut Both "curves" (3", 2", or 1 1/2" Ruler). Both of the "curves" (Concave and Convex) that are on each of the CREATIVE CURVES RULERS are designed to match - once the seams are sewn. For example, to use the CREATIVE CURVES 3' RULER:For the Background Fabric: Cut a Strip 4 1/2" x 42". Then cut it into the number of 4 1/2" squares that are needed for the Background Fabric. Next, align the 3" Ruler as seen in Diagram A and cut the curve. For the Quarter Circle Fabric: Cut a Strip 3 1/2" x 42". Then cut it into the number of 3 1/2" squares that are needed for the Quarter Circles. Next align the 3" Ruler as seen in Diagram B and cut the curve. |
