WORKSHOP

THROWING IN A CURVE - 1

(HALF-DAY OR FULL DAY)

By simply adding an oval curve to the basic traditional "Rail Fence" pattern, this simple and easy design is transformed to a dramatic quilt. This striking 're-born' Scrap Quilt of Batik fabrics has the potential for numerous variations. This is quilt is one of a series of 3 traditional designs that have been updated by adding curves to the original patterns and is the reason for the title of her new curved book "Throwing In A Curve". Virginia's 'No Pins' sewing technique for oval curves is an essential part of this class.

Designer of the '07 IQA Raffle Quillt, "2nd Star From The Right", Virginia's quilts can be seen in numerous national and international magazines including; the Sept. '09 issue of "The Quilter" magazine, the March '07 and '09 issues of Fons & Porters Magazine "Love of Quilting", '02 - '09 issues of the French Magazine "Magic Patch", '06 - '09 issues of the British Quilt Magazine "Patchwork & Quilting" to mention a few. Taught by the author and inventor of the Creative Curves Rulers© (circular curves), the Creative Curves Ellipse Rulers© (oval curves), several curved Books and the following non-curve rulers; the Creative Curves Kaleidoscope Ruler© and it's companion Book "Illusions, Kaleidoscope Quilts" and the "Multi-Angle, Wedge Ruler© and Sampler Booklet".
