Virginia A. Walton is an international teacher who regularly teaches in the United States, Europe, the United Kingdom, and Australia. She is the inventor of the Creative Curves Rulers (circular curves), the Creative Curves Ellipse Rulers (oval curves), and the Creative Curves Kaleidoscope Ruler. She is the author of the following curved books; "The Creative Curves Book", "The Creative Curves Ellipse Book", "From Quilts To Wearable Art" and "Slow Down, Curves Ahead. And a companion book for the Kaleidoscope Ruler, "Illusions - Kaleidoscope Quilts". She is currently working on another curved book due out in '08. Virginia was chosen to design and make the '07 donation quilt for IQA and the International Quilt Festival and Market in Houston, TX. Her specialties include easy sewing machine techniques (a No Pins curved piecing method in particular) and color or fabric selection ('how to' combine fabric to create the effect desired in a quilt). Her patterns and quilts can be found in a number of national and international magazines including the following: the German quilt magazne, January '04 issue of "PATCHWORK iDeen"; the German quilt magazine March '08 issue of "Patchwork-und Quiltjournal"; the European quilt magazine "Magic Patch" (translated into 5 languages) in the following issues - November '02, October '03, April '05, February '06, December '06, as well as, a special "Featured Teacher" article for their '07 Italian version of the magazine; the '05 issue of Quilter's Newsletter Magazine; the March '07 and '08 issues of Fon's and Porter's "Love of Quilting" magazine and the May '07 issue of the Spanish quilt magazine "artpatchwork", which also included a "Featured Teacher" article. Her television appearances include Kaye Woods' "Quilting With Friends" television series and the PBS Show "Cretive Woman". In addition, her quilts can be seen on Geogia Bonsteel's "Lap Quilting with Georgia Bonsteel" television show. |
