WORKSHOP

"CROSSED DIAMONDS"

(FULL DAY)

This striking Batik wall-hanging was designed and made for the French magazine "Magic Patch" to introduce a new non-curve ruler, the "Multi-Angle, Wedge Ruler & Sampler Pattern", to the European comunity. While original Blocks can be easily made, traditional Blocks are also part of the variety of designs that are possible. Until the invention of this remarkable tool, sewing different Angles (Wedges) together wasn't easy, however, this new Ruler includes a special 'Slot' for each of the Angles on the Ruler (5 to 60 degrees) so that the 'point' for each of the Angles can be cut off at the exact 1/4" seam allowance. creating a Wedge that makes it possible to sew a wide variety of Angles together. For example, this quilt is made with the following Angles: 25, 5, and 30 degrees. (See the Free Video section on <www.qnntv.com> for a 3-part video on this new tool and the pages for "Multi-Angle, Wedge Ruler & Sampler Booklet" and "Uneven Star", "Star In A Star", "Wedge Frenzy" and "Flower Frenzy" for additional examples of quilts made with this new ruler.)

Designer of the '07 IQA Raffle Quillt, "2nd Star From The Right", Virginia's quilts can be seen in numerous national and international magazines including; the Sept. '09 issue of "The Quilter" magazine, the March '07 and '09 issues of Fons & Porters Magazine "Love of Quilting", '02 - '09 issues of the French Magazine "Magic Patch", '06 - '09 issues of the British Quilt Magazine "Patchwork & Quilting" to mention a few.
